Pfiffer Racing Melbourne Cup Tipping Competition

With the Spring Carnival in full action, the race that stops a nation is less than a week away and Pfieffer Racing will be running a tipping competition for the cup on Tuesday,  6th of November. This weekend’s results will be key as to who makes the final field as it is no doubt an open field for the 2018 Lexus Melbourne Cup with the likes of 3yo Thinkin Big looking for a spot. 

With the race that stops a nation under a week away, Pfieffer Racing will be running a tipping competition for the cup on Tuesday, 6th of November. Darren Weir has declared the top weight Humidor won’t be running due to injury, leaving Godolphin’s Caulfield Cup - winning raider Best Solution as top weight with 57.5kg. Godlophin import Avilius has kicked off his Australian Racing in style and assured himself a spot in the Cup thanks to his win the Group Three Bart Cummings, a Melbourne Cup ballot exemption to the winner.

There’s one more race offering ballot  exemption and the running of that will be critical in determining which horse secures the final spot in the field. Iffraaj gelding Jaameh looms as a key player based on his narrow last start defeat to Avilius in the Bart Cummings over the same track and distance, while the Charlie Fellows runner Prince Of Arran and Chris Waller trained Brimham Rocks also have strong claims. A surprise second acceptor in Tosen Basil was on Monday but based off his current form the Weir trained galloper looks a bit out of his depth and it wouldn't be surprising if he dropped out come Saturday’s acceptances.

The final acceptances for the 2018 Melbourne Cup will be taken at 4:30pm this Saturday, which is known as Derby Day.

The Competition and Prizes

The competition will be based off a point scoring system, where you get to choose four horses of your choice. If one of your four horses come - 

First:  You receive 5 points and so on

Second: 3 points

Third: 2 points

Fourth: 1 point

The person with the most points will be declared the 2018 Pfieffer Racing Melbourne Cup Tipping Champion. In regards to prizes,

It will cost $25 to enter and you can enter as many times as you’d like!!! In regards to payment, it can be credited to your account and if you don't have an account, please make  contact to either James or Jane before 5pm on Monday. 

If you could please send your top four choices through after acceptances to racing@davidpfiefferracing.com.au or james@davidpfiefferracing.com.au by 5pm Monday the 5th of November. If there happens to be a scratching Tuesday morning, please may you send through another tip so that you remain in the running.

The winners will be announced and contacted on Wednesday. If they are equal winners, prizes will be split.
