Denmagic goes out in style

With motherhood on the agenda for a lot of horses preparing for the 2018 spring we say goodbye to the DENMAGIC as a race horse.
The Bell River Thoroughbreds mare has been with the stable for approximately 4 years and during that time the staff have grown to adore this bay affectionately called “Denny”.
She kicked of her career on the 29th May 2015 in a Warwick Farm Trial with the champion Hugh Bowman taking the sit. The quality was there at an early stage as DENMAGIC worked home beautifully over the 803m finishing under a hold. Her debut was made in the city a week later and the 1100m marker at Rosehill provided the setting for a promising 4th behind the smart Mogador.
After some more education a winter break was the order of the day before everything at David Pfieffer Racing really started to heat up. Dennie was now a 3YO and the Beaumont track saw her break her Maiden under the urgings of Peter Wells in front of the Bjorn Baker trained Selita.
Consistency and honesty are qualities that resonate with this daughter of Denman. She has only saluted twice but with almost $400k in prize money it’s safe to say that she was always in the finish. As she got older the dream for her connections became a reality as the grade steeply improved.
DENMAGIC was now fully matured and had shown plenty of class along the way. The stable had their up and comer and the Spring Carnival was on the agenda for this flyer from Bell River. The Gr1 Myer Classic saw Dennie tested over the mile against the likes of I’M A STAR, PEARLS, RISING ROMANCE, FIRST SEAL & FRENCH EMOTION. She showcased that customary finish and 0.5L was the margin as she worked home powerfully to finish 3rd.
The daughter of Denman has continued to show the talent and determination to allow her to compete at stakes level. She has lined up against Everest winner Redzel, taken on the Quinton duo of Daysee Doom and Dixie Blossom, matched matched motors with the Godolphin flyer Badajoz and continued her rivalry with Darby Racing’s Selita.
