RUNNERS
Canterbury tonight
Miss Marilyn is in race 2 with Jason Collett to ride from barrier 3. She is making her debut tonight but has the benefit of two solid barrier trials. She has been settling back and running on strongly which is a good sign. She relaxes well and then knows how to attack the line so we expect her to settle around midfield and if she can get clear at the right time, she will be hitting the line strongly late. The race is full of first starters and they can be difficult to assess but we know our filly is doing everything right so we are hoping for a top three finish.
Rosehill Saturday
Chestnut Road is in race 3 with Tommy Berry to ride from barrier 2. He hit the line very strongly at Randwick last start to finish third and was the best run of the race but he has been a victim of circumstance this preparation. He is absolutely flying in track work and just needs a bit of luck to win. This race looks suitable with only 9 runners and a good barrier. He will be close enough to the leaders around the turn and there should be plenty of room to find a clear run. He will be finishing strongly and we are pretty confident. It is a tough race to line up the form with the other runners all coming through different formlines.
Tahitian Black is in race 7 with Hugh Bowman to ride from barrier 5. He has been in great form with two strong placings behind Religify and Craftiness and then a gutsy win over stablemate Inside Job at Randwick last start. He is in great form and will be in the finish. Woodbine is the one to beat with a win over Atmospherical and solid performances at Group 1 and Group 3 level in the Spring. He is first up but has two good trials under his belt. He looks the one to beat but Tahitian Black will give him a run for his money.
